San Fransokyo's one of those weird nineties cartoon cities that doesn't make any actual geopolitical sense, but hey, whatever, it's cute. Word of God says after the 1906 earthquake that destroyed San Francisco, the Japanese immigrants in the city rebuilt it from the ground up because they knew better how to construct to compensate for seismic activity. And then San Francisco became San Fransokyo. By 2032, which is approximately when the plot of Big Hero 6 takes place, it becomes a mashup supercity with a much larger and more influential population of people of Japanese descent, and heavy cultural influence drawn from both real-world San Francisco and Tokyo.

Modern skyscrapers collide with the architecture of both feudal Japan and early 1900s NorCal, plus a lot of high-tech futuristic stuff. It's weird. Locations of interest include: the Lucky Cat Cafe, old Krei Tech headquarters, the rubble of new Krei Tech headquarters, San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, some bigass island in the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge (or the Torii Gate Bridge??? Yeah idk) and a million other things. Intersectional culture and underground bot fighting rings are things; while not illegal, gambling on bot fighting is illegal. Crime lord Yama is heavily involved in both organizing and rigging the bot fighting rings to make money from the gambling. Also Krei Tech is basically like Apple I guess idk.

Come play, do whatever, you can make an AU or pretend Krei Tech started playing around with teleportation again and fucked up time and space and the multiverse and now they're displacing people from random times and places and giving them a shitton of cash and benefits to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Or something. Yeah sorry 'bout that Bilbo Baggins we'll set u up with a pension and shit just sign this paperwork and don't talk about it. Like that.
