Silent Sparrow Redux: Some Basic Info
What if a character is not of this world? And yes, I mean this in every possible sense of the phrase. Well, that is very simple: blame Krei Tech.
Not because I want to suddenly impose rules on the casual musebox with friends but I guess it'd be good to give a quick explanation of some options, to give people ideas on how to bring characters from other canons/dead characters into a setting-specific musebox. Silent Sparrow Redux is a running plot for the musebox because it's the easiest option for creating bullshit jamjar shenanigans, and it works something like this:
After the new Krei Tech headquarters was destroyed and Abby Callaghan retrieved from the weird interspace inside(?) the last remaining Silent Sparrow portal, Krei Tech employees interviewed her to get a report on what actually happened to her. Assume that that weird interspace place with the fractals and rainbows was not, in fact, a part of their original calculations, nor did they know they'd connect to something like that. So Krei Tech, being shady as shit, decides to build several new portals and investigate.
The portals are located in two different remote locations, in case of major failures - one in a rural lab north of the city, and one several miles off the coast of San Fransokyo, somewhere on the Farallones. The portals *can* connect to one another successfully, but only inorganic objects can pass through. Start sending living things in and shit gets weird. Shit gets even weirder because now the portals also connect to someplace else and weird stuff comes out the longer the portal stays on. Stuff from other times and universes, sometimes people and animals. Rather than go "haha shit maybe we shouldn't" researchers are being super sketchy and encouraging this to happen so they can gather more data.
Which is where character options come in: you could have a setting-specific AU, i.e. Tony Stark who is chief executive of one of Krei Tech's competitors or something like that, or an OU of your character accidentally ported in through one of Krei Tech's portals. Either your character was unconscious (call it "hypersleep" if u want but that was some bullshit pseudoscience right there, Baymax) and dropped off like a small orphan by Krei Tech employees at a hospital with no explanation or id, or they were conscious and Krei Tech promptly gave them a shitton of money and benefits and an apartment in San Fransokyo in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement to maintain their total silence on what happened.
So yeah. Some ideas.
Duplicates of characters played by different muns are probably fine, but it's probably best to consider interactions with the different versions alternate timelines from one another for the sake of simplicity. If anybody's doing running plotlines spanning multiple threads be sure to ask and discuss before jumping in. The only consistent thing rly is the setting. Everything else is up for alternate timelines and non-linear bullshit. Just consider it a place to connect with other people who are into Big Hero 6 or the setting or whatever and plot PSLs with them.
